sntynt seqnce I

sntynt sqnce I is an electroacoustic work for clarinet and resonant soundboards that treats the lobby environment as an extension of the instrument. The live clarinet sound is routed through a Max patch, where it is spatialized and filtered through the resonant modes of each wooden soundboard. The piece examines how acoustic gestures and architectural responses shape the performance space. Processed room noise circulates through the resonant structures, allowing the soundboards to envelop the lobby with oscillations shaped by their unique acoustic characteristics. The title is derived from sentient, rendered without vowels to reflect the work’s interest in perception as something constructed from organized fragments rather than a seamless, unified whole.
