dream schema is a site-specific, embedded audio installation built inside an elevator, utilizing two snare drums, transducers, and a contact microphone to translate mechanical motion into vibration and sound. The work examines the illusion of agency embedded in elevator designs – where choices appear available yet remain predetermined – by juxtaposing the scripted verticality of an elevator setting with the fluid trajectories of dreams. By staging two snares as a dining table and inviting passengers to “EAT,” the installation reframes the elevator as a space of social negotiation, prompting reflection on control, autonomy, and the shifting sense of self that emerges during transitional states.
